Actor-turned-politician 'Thalapathy' Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is contesting in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from two constituencies — Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli (East) — a high-stakes electoral debut that has turned both seats into closely watched battlegrounds.

Beyond his own candidature, Vijay has fielded several candidates across key constituencies, including high-profile contests against established leaders, signalling TVK’s ambition to emerge as a significant third force in Tamil Nadu politics.
