There were a total of 2,05,959 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,07,406 were male, 98,537 female and 16 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,12,326 registered voters, of which 1,07,406 were male, 1,01,010 female and 20 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,86,302 registered voters in this constituency, of which 99,605 were male, 86,692 female and 5 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,75,987 which included 93,140 male, and 82,847 female.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Satyanarayan Pradhan of BJD won in this constituency beating Surama Padhy of BJP by a margin of 4,251 votes which was 2.84% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Rabinarayan Mohapatra of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Surama Padhy of BJP by a margin of 16,426 votes which was 12.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Satyanarayan Pradhan of BJD won this seat defeating Surama Padhy of BJP by a margin of 21,601 votes which was 17.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.
