In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Sukanta Kumar Nayak of BJP won in this constituency beating Santosh Khatua of BJD by a margin of 1,577 votes which was 1.01% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sukanta Kumar Nayak of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Sushama Biswal of BJP by a margin of 13,700 votes which was 9.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pratap Chandra Sarangi of IND won this seat defeating Pradipta Panda of CPM by a margin of 3,056 votes which was 2.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.
