In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Amar Prasad Satpathy of BJD won in this constituency beating Amar Kumar Nayak of BJP by a margin of 1,485 votes which was 1.08% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Amar Prasad Satpathy of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Janmejoy Lenka of INC by a margin of 16,939 votes which was 13.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Amar Prasad Satpathy of NCP won this seat defeating Sitakanta Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 10,649 votes which was 9.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
