In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Arun Shankar Prasad of BJP won in this constituency beating Sitaram Yadav of RJD by a margin of 22689 votes which was 12.14% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Sitaram Yadav of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Arun Shankar Prasad of BJP by a margin of 10703 votes which was 6.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Arun Shankar Prasad of BJP won this seat defeating Sitaram Yadav of RJD by a margin of 10713 votes which was 8.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
