In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Usha Devi of BJD won in this constituency beating Manoranjan Dyan Samantara of BJP by a margin of 20,635 votes which was 15.42% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Usha Devi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Mano Ranjan Dyana Samantara of INC by a margin of 32,148 votes which was 25.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Usha Devi of BJD won this seat defeating Chintamani Dyan Samantara of INC by a margin of 14,229 votes which was 13.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
