In 2014, Sudam Marndi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Purusotam Naik of BJP by a margin of 31,529 votes which was 20.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sarojini Hembram of BJD won this seat defeating Sudam Marndi of JMM by a margin of 6,331 votes which was 5.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.
