This constituency covers an approximate area of 314.97 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Daraundha is: 26°02'42.7"N 84°25'58.8"E.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Karnjeet Singh Alias Vyas Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Amarnath Yadav of CPIMLL by a margin of 11320 votes which was 6.94% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Kavita Singh of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Jitendra Swami of BJP by a margin of 13222 votes which was 8.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Jagmato Devi of JDU won this seat defeating Binod Kumar Singh of RJD by a margin of 31135 votes which was 28.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
