In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,16,180 registered voters, of which 1,07,648 were male, 1,16,125 female and 36 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,01,214 registered voters in this constituency, of which 97,675 were male, 1,03,523 female and 16 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,89,173 which included 91,182 male, and 97,991 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Rajini Vidadala of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Prathipati Pullarao of TDP by a margin of 8,301 votes which was 4.41% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Prathipati Pulla Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Marri Rajasekhar of YSRCP by a margin of 10,684 votes which was 6.15% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prathipati Pulla Rao of TDP won this seat defeating Marri Rajasekhar of INC by a margin of 19,813 votes which was 12.79% of the total votes polled for the seat.
