Araku Valley Assembly seat can be classified as: Rural and the reservation status of this seat is: Scheduled Tribe. 28. Araku Valley was scheduled to vote on Monday, May 13, 2024, alongwith voting in Phase 4 of the 2024 Lok Sabha general election.

The geographic coordinates of Araku Valley Assembly constituency are: 18°14'13.9"N 82°45'28.8"E. Araku Valley shares its borders with five other Assembly constituencies. Other Andhra Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Araku Valley are: Paderu, V Madugula, Srungavarapukota, Gajapathinagaram, Salur (ST). This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Odisha.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,41,494 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,17,581 were male, 1,23,907 female and 6 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,20,893 registered voters, of which 1,17,581 were male, 1,12,698 female and 5 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,14,100 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,04,316 were male, 1,09,777 female and 7 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,96,861 which included 94,665 male, and 1,02,196 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Chetti Palguna of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Donnu Dora Siyyari of IND by a margin of 25,441 votes which was 16.15% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kidari Sarveswara Rao of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Siveri Soma of TDP by a margin of 34,053 votes which was 22.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Siveri Soma of TDP won this seat defeating Vanjangi Kanthamma of INC by a margin of 402 votes which was 0.33% of the total votes polled for the seat.
