In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Velam Palli Srinivasa Rao of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Shabana Musarat Khatoon of TDP by a margin of 7,671 votes which was 4.99% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Jaleel Khan of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Velampalli Srinivasa Rao of BJP by a margin of 3,108 votes which was 2.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Velampalli Srinivasa Rao of PRAP won this seat defeating Mallika Begum of INC by a margin of 8,342 votes which was 5.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
