In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,54,641 registered voters, of which 1,30,358 were male, 1,30,477 female and 36 of the third gender. In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Abdul Aziz Shaik of TDP by a margin of 20,776 votes which was 12.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Sannapureddy Suresh Reddy of BJP by a margin of 25,653 votes which was 16.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Anam Vivekananda Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy of PRAP by a margin of 3,131 votes which was 2.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
